Whitechapel Mission and London Overground tackle begging on trains

If you travel on London's trains you may very well have come across people using the network to beg for money. In many instances passengers feel compelled to give what they can, but doing so can cause more harm than good.

It is with this in mind, that the Whitechapel Mission and London Overground have joined together to discourage people from giving money directly to beggars and to give directly to the Mission; supporting their work to provide food and other essential services to London's homeless men and women.

In John Singleton's piece for the Methodist Recorder, we learn how this initiative came about and how it works.
