CANCELLATION OF PILGRIMAGE

As you will know, different national governments have taken different measures to controlling the spread of Covid-19. At present, Israeli authorities are not allowing pilgrims from overseas into the country and we currently have no news as to when this situation may change. We are also aware that some scheduled to go abroad may feel uneasy about international travel at present.

Following the advice of our tour operators, McCabe Pilgrimages, we have had to take the difficult decision to cancel the Pilgrimage.  We are aware that this may not be the news you were expecting this side of Christmas. However, we hope you can appreciate the circumstances under which we’ve had to make this decision and know that the safety of all has been paramount in this. The District hopes to organise another pilgrimage at some point in future.

Will I get a refund for all monies paid?

Yes, you will get a full refund of all monies paid to date. McCabe Pilgrimages will be in touch by post soon and will enclose a refund cheque for all monies paid to them including the insurance premium. If you have set up a standing order or any other recurring payments, please take a moment to cancel it.

It is always very moving to make a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, there is so much to see and experience and learn together.

St Jerome said: ‘Five gospels record the life of Jesus. Four you will find in books and one you will find in the land they call Holy. Read the fifth gospel and the world of the four will open to you.’

We invite you to join us and discover for yourselves the setting of some of the most important events in the life and ministry of our Lord, Jesus Christ: in Jerusalem, the surrounding area and further north in Galilee. Others that have visited the Holy Land describe it as a trip of a lifetime. Your understanding of the gospels will never be the same again and by visiting the Holy Land we are standing in solidarity and weave ourselves into the lives of our sisters and brothers there too. Whether you are new to the Holy Land or have been many times before, there are always new sights and sounds to reflect upon.

This eight-day trip will transform your interaction with Scripture into a lively experience that fills all the senses.

Join other London Methodists to experience the story of our faith, interact with the local Palestinians and Israeli Christians and see the sites mentioned in the Scriptures.
