The aim of Methodist Women in Britain (MWiB) is to know Christ and make him known, encouraging, enabling and equipping women to participate fully in the life of the Church and in society, support the Church to become truly the whole people of God. MWiB encourages women to develop creative Christian spirituality and practical social action in a global context.

MWiB is part of an international movement of faith, compassion and hope. Consequently, members are encouraged to grow in their love of God, neighbours and themselves, as well as connecting with the concerns of Christian women overseas. In this way, women are equipped for mission and to recognise and link the gifts that can employ, to ameliorate needs in their churches, Circuits and communities, here and abroad. The mode of operation in practice is participative, flexible, dynamic, transparent and creative.

The movement of Methodist Women in Britain was launched at the Methodist Conference in 2011. MWiB includes and incorporates the Women's Network in the Methodist Church (WN) and the British Unit of the World Federation of Methodist and United Church Women (British Unit, WFMUCW). Download a diagram below showing the many different layers of Methodist Women's Involvement. The structure of the MWiB in the London District includes a President (who is elected for a period of 2 years), a vice President, a secretary, a treasurer and three coordinators for the 35 circuits, who form the executive. Patsy Constantine is the president of the Women's Network in the London District, which exists as part of MWiB.

The executive works closely with Circuit representatives, who liaise with Church representatives. It is at Church and Circuit levels that money is raised for World Mission and MWiB business activities, which are parts of its Key function.
