New Places for New People - NPNP

New Places for New People (NPNP) focus on seeing those not yet attending any church being introduced to Christian belief and practice, becoming followers of Jesus Christ and growing together with others into a new worshipping community.

An NPNP might not meet in a Methodist Church building, but on a new housing development, online or outdoors in a community garden on an estate. They are places and spaces where people can come together to start to build relationships and explore faith together.

They could be mum’s with babies or small children who are economically marginalised, people with a specific cultural heritage or regular attendees of 12 step recovery groups. The kind of faith community and the expression of worship that emerges will look very different for each of these people groups and contexts.

The NPNP Lead in London District, Andrea Campanale, will work with circuits and churches to help them identify what might be possible and appropriate in a locality; and co-ordinate the District NPNP Committee, that has responsibility for nurturing and evaluating new and existing NPNP projects that are or have already secured Connexional and District funding.

If you have an idea for an NPNP in your church or circuit, please contact Andrea and she will be happy to come alongside to see how your vision might become a reality. There is a small pot of funding available to test out an idea, find out more about the context and discern what God is drawing your attention to. Please contact the district office for a form to apply for this seed funding.

Practical Wisdom for Leading Transformation and Growth - An Afternoon with Revd Dr Elaine Heath

Tuesday, 15 September 2026

1:30pm - 5pm

Lumen United Reformed Church & Community Centre URC, 88 Tavistock Place, London, WC1H 9RS

This event is for Methodist leaders and mission-minded people—both ordained and lay—including pioneers, pastors, evangelists, superintendents, and district chairs in the Methodist Church in Britain. If you're committed to helping the Church in the UK become more healing, hopeful, and outward-looking, we'd love to see you there.

We’ll learn from Elaine’s rich experience as a theologian, professor, mission leader, community pioneer, farmer, and contemplative. She brings together deep biblical insight with wisdom from mysticism, psychology, and ecology—shaping a restorative, inclusive approach to mission, evangelism, and growth.
