International Journeys

Chile-15.jpg

As part of the budget for Moving Stories, funds were put aside for international journeys to give the London District the opportunity to research and observe how the Methodist Church in other parts of the world are responding to refugees and migrants in their areas, and what we might learn for London.

In January 2018, Revd Nigel Cowgill, Chair of the London District, and Project Worker Becky Cutcliffe spent 8 days in Chile, visiting Methodist Churches there, and discussing with them how they've reacted to the huge influx of Haitian people to their country. In March 2018, Revd Michaela Youngson, Chair of the London District, had the opportunity to visit a Woman's Refugee Centre in Calais with other Interfaith Partners from London.
