I write with news that Chair of District, the Revd Michaela Youngson, has been nominated to the role of Assistant Secretary of the Conference and Connexional Ecumenical Officer. This has, today, been approved by the Methodist Council. As with all presbyteral appointments, this is subject to agreement by the Methodist Conference but we expect that to be straightforward, so Micky will finish her time as District Chair in the summer of 2021, beginning her new role in September.

 

Micky will have served the London District for nine years and we wish her well as she moves on to take up her new responsibilities in the Connexional Team. 

 

The District Council will work with Connexional officers to undertake the required review of leadership in the District and I will update you as plans unfold.
