A Prayer for the new Connexional year

Beginnings predicated on ‘Waiting on God’!

When we start this new Connexional year O God;

We rest in the comforting knowledge of your unfailing presence,

We commit to give of ourselves as a District to fulfil,

All that you command us to do, to the best of our abilities.

We celebrate the year that is past and we give thanks for colleagues, lay and ordained with whom we serve your church through the London District. Our joint endeavour in ministry is our faithful commitment to you O Lord.

We trust in your unfailing grace to uphold us

We believe in your compassionate care to keep us strong,

We stand ready to respond to those affected by the uncertain economic climate as the economy dips once more. May we be vigilant Lord, as we pay attention to issues of poverty justice all throughout.   

Settle us in the newness of beginnings Lord,

Teach us to wait on you Lord,

Renew our energy and passion for your work Lord,

Help us we pray, to walk consistently in your ways Lord,

Through the mighty and healing name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
