A prayer in memory of 7/7

God of grace, by whose costly love we are called to healing and reconciliation,

we pray on the anniversary of the 7/7 attacks for all those still living through their pain and grief:

for those who were injured, and who still bear the wounds, scars and effects of violence;

for those who mourn the loss of those they love;

for those for whom that day will always be a fearful memory.

As we pray and remember, give us the grace to be peacemakers.

Call us again to the difficult of work of your Kingdom, to be agents of reconciliation.

Forgive us for our part in creating barriers and divisions of any kind between your beloved children,

and renew in us the strength to follow Jesus, even into structures of injustice, hatred and fear,

that we might bring peace in his name.

Amen.
