FRCO Training Day

I am deeply grateful to everyone who engaged and brought their energy, openness, and wisdom to our District Faith- Rooted Community Organising training day.

The day provided an energising space to make connections, share lived experience, and exchange practices that sparked and encouraged ideas about mission and community engagement across our churches. We journeyed together as we listened, reflected and explored how one-to-one conversations, story sharing and micro-organising can help us find common ground and act with humility and hope.

Feedback was highly supportive. Participants described the day as insightful, inspiring and easy to follow, good facilitation, appreciation for the spirit of kindness, good use of reflective questions, and hands-on practice. Many valued being with others who share a passion for FRCO and left feeling more confident about living faithfully in today’s world while working towards the world God intends. Helpful suggestions included, further one-to-one practice, follow-up notes, online training options with a note that FRCO are helpful practice to learn and should be shared with a wider audience.

With that said, we have only just begun. I am excited to begin Rooted with Renée, a monthly gathering for those wanting to engage with FRCO practices and build a network across the district. The sessions will offer a warm, supportive space to explore power, justice, spiritual grounding and our organising framework.

Autumn dates: 28 September, 26 October and 30 November.
