Local Preachers and
Worship Leaders
Local Preachers and Worship Leaders play a key role in the life of the Methodist Church and are integral to Methodism’s historic self-understanding as a lay movement. As holders of Methodist offices, both roles require a commitment to initial training and ongoing Learning and Development.

The Learning Network is committed to supporting the development of Local Preachers and Worship Leaders in the London Region. The Learning Network offers:
-
One-to-one training for new tutors on the Worship: Leading and Preaching course.
-
Consultation regarding the study and assessment process; providing advice and a sounding board for tutors and mentors.
-
A program of Continuing Professional Development for accredited preachers, in conjunction with the London District. Previous CPD days have included focusing on Intergenerational Worship and How to Preach on Divisive Topics. These are currently on hold due to Covid-19, but check back for event details in the New Year.
