All those involved in property and/or mission development are invited to attend this year's property day; hosted by District Property Development Officer, Kathleen Henriques-Brown and District Chairs, Revd Nigel Cowgill and Revd Dr Jongi Zihle.
We are delighted to have a panel of speakers from across the District and the Connexion in attendance, and the event will include space for further discussions through break-out rooms.
Through this property day we will be seeking to address the following questions:
How Covid-19 and the pandemic has affected how we use our buildings
How buildings are thriving in use or used in alternative ways to meet community needs
How churches and circuits can develop their property strategy in line with their mission plans
Our panel of speakers and their topics can be found below:
Deacon Dawn Canham - Lantern Methodist Church, Wimbledon Circuit
Property with Mission in mind
Dawn was appointed at the Lantern in 2018, having previously served outside London. “Returning home” to London (born north east of the river) has been a great joy, as has being able to fully express her passion for the arts in the solid relationship between the Lantern Methodist and the Lantern Arts Centre.
Anne Fairchild - Circuit Executive Officer, Enfield Methodist Circuit
Innovating with Property Development
Anne has been a lay employee at Enfield Circuit since 2016. Anne supports the ministerial team with property management, finance, HR, legal, regulations, compliance and strategy. She is also a resource to the churches within the Circuit to advise on any of these matters. Anne has been involved in major manse refurbishments, church sales and large building projects. Her background is in investment and pensions.
Revd Nadine Wilkinson - Parchmore Methodist Church and Community Centre & Downsview Methodist Church, Croydon Circuit
Overcoming the challenges of mission planning/property development
Sally Granham - District Property Secretary, Chester and Stoke on Trent District
