The District Council
The District Council meets 4 times a year for evening meetings and a full day in January.
It has 20 members who are appointed annually by Synod and serve for a maximum of six years. They represent the rich diversity of life of the churches, culture and experience in the District. Their responsibility is to discuss and approve policy, take the decisions necessary to meet the constitutional and administrative requirement of the Methodist Church, to offer personal support to the Chairs, lay staff and voluntary officers of the District, monitor their work and the wider concerns of Circuits and churches and to bring ideas and advice to enrich the mission of Methodism in London.
