Applecart
Applecart is raring to go and 2012 looks set to be our most exciting year yet beginning with a brand new project…
Our ‘New School Shorts’ are now available online. Not the garment but the films produced by Applecartlive Ltd. (We are now a registered charity cc.01205289)
Each film is a classic telling of a Gospel story. ‘The Wedding’, ‘The Roof’, ‘The Builders’ and ‘The Children’ are designed for Primary School age people but will be loved by all. Even Jesus gets a mention. Phil is simply filmed as a storyteller.

Each film is engaging with an Applecart sense of fun but without over simplifying the story or patronising the audience.

‘New School Shorts’ are now available to purchase from www.12baskets.co.uk to access, just click the link.

If you want something more traditionally Applecart then our Hermeneutubes are still available for viewing at www.applecartlive.org or downloadable (for free) at www.12baskets.co.uk'
Check out these exciting new film projects and be prepared for more to come this year!

If you would like to add to those he already has, then take a look at his website to see examples and guidelines for writing and submitting.  Please send all contributions and questions to ray@hanwellmethodist.info.

THE HUGH PRICE HUGHES LECTURES 2012 "Belonging Together?"
Hinde Street Methodist Church invites you to THE HUGH PRICE HUGHES LECTURES 2012, "Belonging Together?"
All lectures are on Tuesday evening at 7.30pm and are free.
The increasing diversity of the worlds in which we live presents each of us with a daily challenge about how to relate to difference.  Christians speak of our diversity as a God-given gift.  Yet it is rare to hear constructive public conversation about the difficulties and challenges of belonging together especially in relation to the wider society – our context for life and mission. Taking five different starting points, the lecturers in this series, will use their practical experience to explore some of these issues. The series of lectures will take place on the dates outlined below.

  • FEBRUARY 14th 2012  7.30pm, Hugh Starkey, “Learning to Live Together”
  • MARCH 13th 2012  7.30pm, Frances Ward, “Political Friendship”
  • APRIL 17th 2012  7.30pm, Ann Morisy, “Playing Fair Across the Generations”
  • MAY 8th 2012 7.30pm, Clive Marsh, “Belonging together……. with those of no faith?”
  • JUNE 12th 2012 7.30pm, Katei Kirby, “Belonging together – dream or reality?”

Circuit Stories

A good number of members from the churches in the Harrow & Hillingdon Circuit, as well as further afield, gathered at Hayes Methodist Church for an inspirational session to discover how to make eye-catching posters.

‘ Not only did the day teach us some valuable craft techniques but also taught us to appreciate that some people have a talent for ideas but need someone else to turn those ideas into a visual creation’ ...... read more
