District Work

The District Mission is to be good news for this global city.

It was set up to resource local churches and circuits in their mission and ministry and to engage with the global city. The co-chairs take the lead on the former, and the lead chair on the latter. The District fulfills its mission through the churches, circuits, ministers and members and through the work of its District Council and 5 Commissions (Congregational Development, Social Care, Civic Engagement, Vocational Development and Nurture and Discipleship).

The work of the District is shaped and inspired by our ‘Core Values’.    For a District as new as ours, the Core Values are a work in progress.  As we explore how we can develop them in policies and projects, so we can be more discerning in expressing them in ways that reflect the complexity of our District and the challenge of God’s mission.
